Dawn Patrick

As Industry Leader of Cherry Bekaert’s Technology & Life Sciences practice, Dawn
has dedicated more than 15 years to serving clients in the technology industry and
supporting the technology community with her time and extensive knowledge. Dawn also
leads Cherry Bekaert’s Corporate Tax Solutions group, which specializes in serving the
complex tax needs of large multi-national corporations.

Prior to joining Cherry Bekaert, Dawn spent 22 years with a Big Four firm, including
almost ten years as a tax partner in the Lead Tax Services area and three years with
a large Atlanta firm. Throughout her career, she has worked with public and private
companies ranging from startups to large, international corporations. Dawn also has
hands-on tax leadership experience, having been tax director with the multi-national
Intercontinental Hotels Group, where she managed the team responsible for corporate
tax operations in the western hemisphere.

Dawn's specific area of expertise include accounting for income taxes, corporate tax as well as technology and life sciences.  She is active in the leadership of the Technology Association of Georgia and has been nominated for the Women In Technology, "Woman of the Year" award and has won the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Who's Who in Technology in Atlanta.

Nigel Zelcer

Nigel Zelcer

Nigel Zelcer is recognized for his passion in supporting organizations through their journey of large scale transformation. From Mid-Market high growth companies to Fortune 500 clients that have needle moving programs, Nigel’s complex planning and delivery experiences enables both Business and IT organizations to successfully transform. Nigel regularly engages at the start of a transformation and will partner with clients during Strategic Planning sessions and helps organizations establish their overall Strategic Governance approach. Nigel applies his expertise in developing and leading the Program Management Office and oversees all aspects of Operational Excellence, Technology Optimization, and Technology Execution.

Prior to co-founding Jabian Consulting, Nigel worked with Accenture in their Communications & High Tech and Electric Utilities practices. Nigel worked with various US and European companies delivering large scale transformation programs. He is considered a pioneer in large scale Outsourcing, On and Offshore development, eCommerce, and Wireline/Wireless Convergence.

Nigel earned a Bachelor of Science in Information and Decision Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University. His educational degrees were the result of his educational passion of cognitive psychology and the interactions of humans and technology.

Nigel has held numerous leadership positions within the Atlanta community and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). As an active member of TAG, Nigel leads the Premier Members subcommittee and is instrumental in planning and shaping the agenda associated with Georgia largest technology events: Georgia Technology Summit and Excalibur Awards. Outside of the Technology community, Nigel is an active participant with the Winship Cancer Institute, Jabian Cares, and is a member of the Woodward Presidents Circle.

Outside of work, Nigel likes to direct his passion to studying, collecting, and most importantly drinking fine wines. Known for being a food snob, he enjoys the challenge of pairing fine wine with fine food. On most weekends, Nigel and his wife, Randi, can be found on the sideline cheering for their two children at various sporting events.

Sean Banks

Sean Banks

Sean joined TTV in 2002 as a summer associate and returned to TTV in 2005.  He currently serves as a partner and has more than seven years of venture capital experience.  Prior to joining TTV, Sean served as the vice president of finance and general counsel for an Atlanta start-up company. Sean is currently the Chairman of the Technology Association of Georgia’s FinTech super society. He also is a member of the Southern Capital Conference executive steering committee and a member of the Venture Atlanta selection committee.

Sean earned his MBA in 2003 from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University where he was one of five Woodruff Fellows. He is currently a member of the Georgia Bar Association, having earned his J.D. at the University of San Diego in 2001. He is a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a B.S. in economics.  For TTV, he has previously served on the board of directors for CRE Secure, Interactive Advisory Software, FX Bridge and Avalon International (acquired by Bluepoint Solutions), currently serves on the board of directors for: ControlScan and is an observer on the board of directors for FX Bridge and Springbot.

Jonathan Goldman (moderator)

Jonathan Goldman has been active in the Atlanta entrepreneurial community; serving on the management teams of several start-ups, and has more than 25 years in technical sales/business development.  He currently serves as CTO & VP of Engineering, for Hydro Phi Technologies, a hydrogen-on-demand technology, targeting logistics & bus fleets, heavy equipment and generators with a solution to dramatically reduce fuel consumption and emissions.  In 2007, he helped co-found Suniva, a photovoltaic manufacturing firm, out of Georgia Tech, where he served as Director of Business Development, and was instrumental in achieving a backlog in long-term purchase agreements in excess of $1B.  Prior to this, he served as Associate Director for VentureLab, Georgia Tech’s faculty commercialization mechanism, where he helped the program achieve international recognition.  During his 5-year tenure, he helped start more than 10 companies that, collectively, have raised more than $250M in venture and grant funding, including Nuventix, Verco Materials, and LumoFlex.

 

Mr. Goldman began his career as an engineer on NASA’s Space Shuttle & Space Station programs for Rockwell International.  He is a co-founder and former Chairman of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta; member of the Materials Research Society, and regularly serves as a reviewer for NSF’s SBIR Program.  He received his B.S. Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT in 1983, and an M.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the School of Materials Engineering at Georgia Tech in 1989.
