Run It By The Pros Audience Choice Award Winner Announced!

The MIT Enterprise Forum is pleased to announce that Darnisha Harrison of Ennaid Therapeutics was selected as the winner of our Audience Choice Award for this event.   Ennaid Therapeutics is a global biotechnology company focused on the accelerated development of a drug which cures all four strains of dengue virus, the virus that causes dengue fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome.  Congratulations!

The Atlanta entrepreneur community is invited to this behind-the-scenes look at the advisor-investor-entrepreneur relationship hosted by the MIT Enterprise Forum. Our panel of experts and the audience will examine and discuss real-life business plans presented by their entrepreneurial founders at this workshop. Listen in and participate as teams talk with the panel about their ventures and receive actionable feedback and mentoring. Each of the presenting companies will have six minutes to give their business pitch a test drive and then receive 15 minutes of feedback from our pro panel and the audience.

Adam Ghetti

Mr. Ghetti, security technologist and entrepreneur, founded Ionic Security in 2011 to address the problem of data control and cloud protection, following 14 years experience building large-scale systems in multiple Internet-related markets. He is an expert in complex systems and complex task automation and has a deep applied knowledge of application security, network security, data security, neural networks and AI.

Steve Hindman

Steve Hindman has acted as CEO or consultant for companies in difficult business situations for over 40 years. Examples include: Founding a successful software company, launching new businesses for large public companies such as 3M, working with venture capital firms to sell portfolio companies to strategic investors, and advising venture and private equity firms on their portfolio companies, often acting as CEO.

 For larger corporations, Steve was a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company and was a general manager for Boise Cascade. These days he gives presentations on strategy and conducts “Strategic Nerve Labs” to help management develop their own strategies.

 Steve, 66, has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois. Steve is a golfer and former president of Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta. He has a commercial pilot’s license with flight instructor, instrument instructor, and multi-engine ratings.

John Mandile

John joined Sigma in 1996. With over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, a business unit manager, and an investor, John uses motivation, enthusiasm, and his own technology and operational expertise to support Sigma’s portfolio companies. Throughout his career, he has held executive management positions, created new business units and departments, and sponsored new projects at some of the industry’s most successful technology companies.

Prior to Sigma, John was the President & CEO of Vermeer Technologies, Inc., the developers of FrontPage, the leading Web authoring tool. Vermeer was acquired by Microsoft, providing Sigma and the other venture investors a very successful return. Previously, he was an early principal at SQL Solutions, where he created and led an engineering organization chartered to build heterogeneous database tools. Following an acquisition of SQL Solutions by Sybase, he took responsibility for the new Systems Management Product unit, which he grew to $55 million in sales in 30 months. Early in his career, John was recruited to Honeywell, where he worked on a variety of engineering projects in the areas of communications, operating systems, and unix co-processor design.

Clint Crosby is a shareholder in the Atlanta office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC and concentrates his practice in intellectual property, business litigation and the representation of emerging and growth companies.  His intellectual property practice includes prosecution, counseling and litigation.  He regularly represents clients in federal courts in infringement and declaratory judgment matters, including obtaining and defending against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. 

Clint acts as outside general counsel for many of his emerging company clients advising them on formation, intellectual property and business and employment agreements.   He is a registered patent attorney who obtained a B.S. in Biology and his J.D. from the University of Georgia.  He was named a Georgia Rising Star (Intellectual Property Litigation) by Georgia Super Lawyers (2005, 2006, 2009 – 2012) and was also named as one of Georgia's Legal Elite in General Trial Practice by Georgia Trend Magazine (2009, 2012).
