Panelist Bios:


panelist David has been an entrepreneur for over a decade. Hannon Hill was recognized as the 247th fastest growing company in the U.S. by Inc. magazine as part of the Inc. 500 awards. Pardot was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as the fastest growing technology company in 2010 and the third fastest growing company in all of Atlanta that same year. David serves on the board of the Atlanta chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization and the board of Venture Atlanta, and he also won the TiE Top Up and Coming Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2010. A native of Tallahassee, Florida, David earned a bachelor of science degree in economics from Duke University and studied at the London School of Economics.

panelist Sanjay is the founder of Startup Riot, a day-long conference and career fair event held in multiple cities, and a co-founding partner of Shotput Ventures, a seed stage investment firm.

Previously Sanjay was the founding CEO of Digital Envoy and the inventor of the company's patented NetAcuity IP intelligence technology. Digital Envoy was acquired by Landmark Communications in June 2007.

Prior to Digital Envoy, Sanjay was a founding employee of Arris Interactive, where he helped secure over $1 billion in client contracts in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

Sanjay is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and holds an electrical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

panelist Janine Brown concentrates her practice on technology, renewable energy and telecommunications companies, and serves as Partner-in-Charge of the Atlanta office. Ms. Brown’s primary focus is strategic and complex transactions, including capital raising transactions, corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisitions, information technology transactions, joint ventures/strategic alliances and outsourcing transactions for technology, renewable energy and telecommunications companies. Ms. Brown’s clients include public and private companies, as well as private equity funds.

Ms. Brown is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers magazine. She is a frequent lecturer on matters related to technology mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Brown serves on the boards of Spelman College, the Georgia Justice Project, Piedmont Healthcare and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Brown is also a member of the Duke Law School Board of Visitors and serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee. She is a former member of the board of directors of the Business and Finance Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

Ms. Brown received a J.D., with high honors, in 1986 from Duke University School of Law and a B.A., with distinction, in 1982 from the University of Michigan. Over the course of her career, Ms. Brown has counseled companies extensively in complex technology transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, business compliance programs and financing activities.
