Chapter history

The MIT Enterprise Forum was founded in 1978 in Cambridge. It operates through a network of 24 chapters based in the U.S. and overseas. The chapters form around a core group of MIT graduates, but membership and program participation are open to all. A volunteer board of experienced entrepreneurs, corporate executives, university professors and industry leaders runs each chapter

The MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta was founded in 1999 by a handful of MIT alumni and chartered as a subsidiary of the global organization in 2000. We wanted to distinguish ourselves from other, professional organizations by providing unique, high quality, educational programs to the Atlanta area technology and business community not offered by anyone else.

We have accomplished that during the first ten years of our operation by hosting 2-3 wordwide webcasts each year plus several events designed to educate and encourage the entrepreneur. Those programs include our Run It By the Pros workshops, the Entrepreneurs Uncensored fireside chats and our New Talent Exchange networking events. Also every other year we host a Distinguished Entrepreneur Gala at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

None of our accomplishments would be possible without the support of our sponsors. They represent some of the largest national and international companies, and all have strong reputations for excellence. In addition to their financial contributions, our sponsors play a key role in supporting us through their guidance in program selection and evaluation.
